We recommend students start between the ages of 8-10 years of age or older, as the trombone instrument requires a fair amount of lung capacity and breath control. Like the trumpet, the trombone is in the brass family, and is an instrument that requires patience to learn as it requires often requires months to develop a solid and clean tone.
